What if the hardest part of getting things done was already done for you?
Most task apps put the work on the user. Blank list, blinking cursor, figure it out. Real Simple saw a different opportunity — one that matched their brand promise of making real life a little easier. We designed Real Simple's Checklist app with two kinds of users in mind: the DIYer who wants to build their own lists from scratch, and the person who just wants to be told what to pack for moving day. For the latter, we concepted and designed a service that pulls directly from Real Simple's editorial content — giving users instant access to 100+ ready-made checklists for life's biggest moments, from wedding prep to new baby supplies. The experience is as intuitive as the name suggests. Practical, warm, and built for real life — not an idealized version of it.
RESULTS
The initial app found its audience quickly. Its popularity sparked an entire series of themed checklist apps — weddings, cooking, and beyond — turning a single utility into a growing content-driven product line.
