The Inter-American Development Bank's Corporate Results Framework represents one of the most ambitious efforts in multilateral development to translate institutional impact into transparent, accessible storytelling. Tracking hundreds of indicators across Latin America and the Caribbean, the Framework needed more than a report — it needed an experience.
Since 2016, Studio Analogous has been the IDB's design and strategy partner of choice for this initiative — returning again in 2019, and now in 2024 as the Bank introduces its new Impact Framework aligned with an updated institutional strategy. Across three consecutive collaborations, we've helped the IDB evolve from static reporting to dynamic, data-rich public-facing websites that bring its mission to life.
THE CHALLENGE
Development impact is inherently complex. The IDB's Corporate Results Framework spans dozens of sectors, hundreds of indicators, and a region of over 660 million people. The challenge was never a lack of data — it was making that data meaningful, navigable, and compelling for a wide range of audiences: policymakers, civil society, partner organizations, and the public at large.
Each iteration of the project brought new complexity: a broader set of indicators, the integration of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and eventually an entirely new Impact Framework requiring a fresh strategic and design vision.
OUR APPORACH
We led the design and strategy process end-to-end across all three engagements, working in close partnership with IDB's communications team and their technical development partners. Our work included:
Facilitating in-person and virtual co-design workshops with key IDB stakeholders to align on vision, priorities, and user needs
Generative group discussions to surface how different audiences engage with results and impact data
Concept development and rapid prototyping through wireframes and mockups, enabling iterative feedback before build
Scenario and user flow mapping to ensure intuitive navigation across complex data sets
Storytelling strategy that wove together static narrative content and dynamic data visualization modules
Responsive UX/UI design optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile
Close collaboration with IDB's technology partners on data visualization integration
Functional and creative QA testing to ensure a polished, accessible final product The result was a framework not just for presenting data — but for communicating impact in a way that builds trust.

A public-facing interactive website that translates the IDB Group's Corporate Results Framework into an accessible, engaging digital experience
Seamless integration of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators, connecting regional development impact to a global narrative
A design system flexible enough to evolve with the Bank's strategy — allowing the 2019 and 2024 iterations to build on prior work rather than start from scratch
