What if aging wasn't something to manage — but something to design for?
Friends Village believed the answer started with community. Not just a place to live, but a platform for purpose — where individuals and the collective could thrive together.
THE CHALLENGE
Turning that belief into a strategy and culture that could carry the organization into its next decade. We partnered with Friends Village to shape their long-term strategy and cultural playbook, grounding the work in a simple but powerful insight: when people feel secure and believe their lives can have meaning, possibility opens up. A home becomes a launchpad, not a last stop. To push that thinking further, we also facilitated an innovation workshop in partnership with VOICE of the UK Centre for Ageing and the University of Newcastle — bringing research, lived experience, and design thinking together to reimagine what the residency model itself could look like.
The result is a roadmap for a more vibrant, purposeful community — one that reframes aging not as decline, but as an active, generative chapter of life.
