How do you help health care professionals reclaim control of the one professional obligation that never stops?
Every licensed health care professional (HCP) in the U.S. faces a recurring reality: to keep their license, they must earn continuing medical education (CME) credits, track their progress, and submit proof to their professional board. It sounds straightforward. But when you talk to the people living it, the picture gets more complicated.
C-ME set out to reinvent this process—not by eliminating the obligation, but by making it manageable, even meaningful. Analogous joined the journey early, helping the team rapidly brand, prototype, and validate the concept before a single line of production code was written.
CHALLENGE
The CME landscape is fragmented. HCPs piece together their license renewal requirements from emails, printed documents, and smartphone reminders—with only 25% using any dedicated tool to help them. The top frustrations weren't about the learning itself (most HCPs find CMEs useful and relevant) but about the administrative burden: keeping track of requirements, knowing how many credits are left, and organizing documentation.
The bigger question wasn't whether a problem existed—it was whether the problem was painful enough to support a product, and whether HCPs would trust and pay for a solution. C-ME needed real answers before building anything real. OUR
APPROACH
Analogous led C-ME through an MVP Accelerator—a rapid, research- forward process designed to test the riskiest assumptions before committing to full development. Working in parallel tracks, the team delivered:
Rapid Branding: A distinctive brand identity and app icon system for C-ME, built around the idea of clarity, connection, and professional momentum— expressed through a vibrant, modular visual language.
Rapid Prototyping: An interactive clickable prototype that brought the app experience to life across key user flows, from CME tracking to event discovery and document storage.
Concept Validation: A mixed-methods research study combining 240 survey respondents across 3 tests with 6 in-depth 1-on-1 user interviews— testing 11 of the team’s riskiest assumptions about the market.
The research surfaced a nuanced picture. HCPs tolerate the renewal process more than they resent it—but the administrative complexity of tracking requirements remained a real, unsolved pain point.
The prototype itself scored high on desirability (5 out of 5 stars), validating C-ME's core concept and pointing the team toward the features that mattered most: a centralized documentation library, a CME units tracker, and a curated events catalog.
RESULTS
A validated brand identity and MVP concept, ready to move into full product development with confidence
Clear evidence of prototype desirability among HCPs, with 5/5 stars on the concept validation
A prioritized MVP Features Overview covering User Dashboard, Events Catalog, Document Storage, User Profile, and Integrations—grounded in real user data, not assumptions
Strategic clarity on willingness to pay and B2B vs. B2C positioning, giving the founding team a concrete roadmap for next steps
What C-ME understood from the start is that the best products aren’t built on hunches—they’re built on listening. By pairing rigorous validation with a compelling brand vision, the team arrived at a launchpad that was credible, desirable, and ready to grow. We were proud to help make that foundation as strong as the idea behind it.
